US R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles has been revealed to be headlining Glastonbury Festival this summer. The huge five-day festival in Somerset, England runs from Wednesday 22nd until Sunday 26 June 2011 and Knowles is expected to play on the last day of the festival [Sunday] on the Pyramid Stage for an audience of about 200,000.
Beyonce, who is currently in the studio working on new music, attended Glastonbury Festival in 2008 when husband Jay-z was a headliner and is said to be following in his footsteps. Beyoncé has recently said “This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend. I’m pumped just thinking about that huge audience and soaking up their energy.”
