Now I’ve been following these guys for quite a while and have delayed writing this for too long, made up from 3 of the 5 members of former indie band ‘Rupert Loves a Riot’ Bedlam Crooks honestly have the guts and experience to become something big.
I don’t know what it is about this band that makes them so infectious as everyone I’ve showed them to (so far) has liked it, maybe it’s the distinctive voice of the lead singer or the fast paced guitar lines. Hailing from South-East London they have kindly uploaded two songs onto their Facebook profile HERE.
After hearing Impala many people would be tempted to write them off as some kind of Arctic Monkeys/Two Door Cinema Club rip off; but they’re not. ‘Beaches’ being the slower of the two is a great sing-a-long once you get around to learning the lyrics, and I can imagine being great live. ‘Impala’ on the other hand urges you to get moving (or whatever you want to call it) the moment it starts, a song that sounds far beyond the amateur impression I first got from the Facebook profile.
The boys will be releasing an EP for free on November 11th at the London O2 Islington Academy which I’m sure will be worth the wait, expect a review or even better buy a ticket HERE and come down for the show!
