The track recently caused controversy on TikTok when Halsey posted that the track was basically being held hostage until they could “fake a viral moment.”
“Everything is marketing,” said Halsey. “And [the label] are doing this to basically every artist these days.” Capitol then responded in a tweet that they were there to “support” Halsey, and “hope that we can continue to have these critical conversations.”
