INTRODUCING: FRANC MOODY

North West London duo Franc Moody are taking their sound into space disco territory with their sleeping giant, dance-floor creeper, Super Star Struck. The track features italo-disco synth sounds which lean against a chugging beat of muted guitar, bass and drums; providing the groove beneath the verse and into the instantly hooky chorus which is becoming a signature Franc Moody move.

Franc Moody on the new single: ‘Super Star Struck’ combines epic intergalactic funk sounds á la George Clinton with the stellar bass n’ drum grooves of Sly Stone. The title itself describes the feeling of pure awe and wonder we sometimes get from any number of things, events or moments that are truly mesmerising, hypnotic and magnetic.”

Having first caught the eye and ear with their set of instrumentals on EP 1, where they honed their groove, Franc Moody have since added vocals and started flexing their melodic muscles; the duo now look ready to wrest synth pop supremacy from their peers. The band cite Daft Punk, jamiroquai and James Brown as their influences, but this is more than just a tribute to their musical idols, Franc Moody are re-appropriating styles and showing the wheel doesn’t need to be reinvented so long as you are breathing fresh air around it and exploring new avenues within it.
