UNDEROATH RETURN WITH “DAMN EXCUSES”

Suprising fans today with their first track since 2018’s album ‘Erase Me’

Stating “No teasing, no countdown, this is Damn Excuses. This is us ready to get back into a loud room with sweaty people and experience something real together.” Underoath fans were surprised with an instantaneous drop of their new single accompanying the Instagram post.

It’s a return to form for fans of Underoath prior to 2018’s ‘Erase Me’. ‘Damn Excuses’ is a raucous, heavy affair showcasing Spencer’s vocals and how tight the band remain after a decade of working together. The song wouldn’t feel out of place on 2010’s ‘Disambiguation’ as we’re starved slightly of Aaron’s heavenly cleans backing up Spencer.
However, it’s sure to grip long time Underoath fans instantly and I’m sure the album will see some success when released because of this return to their heavier sound.

Keyboardist Chris Dudley had this to say on the track. “This song came out of nowhere for us. in hindsight, it probably stems emotionally from the anxiousness that a year of isolation will give you, and that ‘wanting-to-explode’ feeling came out with zero effort. It was therapeutic..”

News of a new album is yet to surface however you can check out Underoath’s latest effort ‘Damn Excuses’ below.
